Sometimes I dream
Of a landscape stripped bare
Of the clutter of my mind
The distractions of my day
And love
Hovers over all
Glory suspended
Infusing all things
With (your) divine breath
Sometimes I dream of the sky
Heady with scent
And with tales on the wind of
Places far away
There's a white sandy beach
Trailing to the horizon
Flanked by the ocean that draws you in
With its sometimes light-glittering
Sometimes moody depths
And the land -
A non-negotiable force
Home, refuge, and the theatre to all things -
From which births, nurtures and sustains
The profound multitudes of life
That teems and ripples
And sings a forever tune:
Love and beauty
Intricacy, harmony, mystery
How do I stand there
And gaze in awe and wonder
…How do I not?
I cannot help but drink it in, this
Goodness and glory
That hovers and calls, quivers and rings
Bursting full and laden
Suspended in this moment
And the next
And, for those times
When I'm found at the sharp,
Pointy-end of pain
Or when sorrow floods my being
- while the sum of all things continue on -
You mark my torment
You lean in, crying out with me
Lamenting, enfolding, uplifting,
Faithfully present
And so, for the landscapes
Of tranquility
That rise up and sing
That touches and moves something within
Where home meets home
And for the fullness of its profound Goodness
Hidden here, in plain sight
That tickles at our minds
Whispers in our hearts,
Tugs at our souls depths,
Thank-you
And
Thank-you
and
thanks
